Jianxiang (Tom) Ye Rotation Student | 2022
Jianxiang Ye received his B.S. in Biochemistry & Biophysics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute(RPI) in 2021. In his senior year, Jianxiang joined Jon Paczkowski’s lab at Wadsworth Center, NYS Department of Health, investigating how different bacterial Quorum Sensing receptors interact with RNA polymerase to initiate signal transcription. After graduation, Jianxiang joined Carl Nathan’s lab as a research technician, working under Gang Lin on drug discovery & development for treatment of cancer and infectious disease. Now, Jianxiang is a graduate student in the Physiology and Cellular Biophysics program. Jianxiang is interested in seeking different possibilities of combating human diseases. Outside of lab, Jianxiang enjoy cooking and watching TV.
Research Experience
Wadsworth Center, New York State Department of Health | Albany, NY (2/2020 – 4/2021)
Undergraduate Researcher | (2/2020 – 8/2020) Supervisor: Dr. Jon Paczkowski
- Designed individual project to understand how LuxR-type receptor interact with RNA polymerase to initiate transcription and how they might be manipulated to prevent pathogenesis.
Weill Cornell Medicine | New York, NY (8/2021 – 7/2022)
Research Technician (Carl Nathan’s Lab) Supervisor: Dr. Gang Lin
- Participated in developing macrocyclic boronic acids as anticancer proteasome inhibitor with three types of proteasome subunits co-inhibition and developing Artemisinin-proteasome inhibitor hybrids with enhancing anticancer potency and reduced toxicity.
