Vignesh Karthik is a current undergraduate at Columbia Engineering studying Applied Mathematics. Previously, he was a Co-Founder of a bio-manufacturing startup called Anthrogen, where he focused his efforts on de-novo protein design using deep learning and raised a $4.2 million seed round from YCombinator, BoxGroup and other notable VCs. He returned to Columbia to focus on his passion for genetics, and joined the Liu lab to help design proteins that can be used for epigenetic editing. He plans on pursuing a graduate program and wants to continue exploring the possibilities of genetic therapies. Outside of the lab, Vignesh loves exploring the coffee scene here in New York!
