Sadie Shang Undergraduate

Sadie Shang, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, is an undergraduate at Barnard College of Columbia University studying Neuroscience & Behavior with a minor in Economics. She works in the Liu Lab under the mentorship of Richard Pan, focusing on CRISPR-based epigenome editing to study DNA methylation and gene regulation in neuronal systems.

Previously, she worked at the Adams Center for Parkinson’s Disease at Yale University, exploring autophagy-related mechanisms in neurodegeneration using Drosophila models and iPSC-derived neurons. She is broadly interested in neurobiology and translational approaches to neurological disease.

Outside of the lab, she enjoys watching movies, going for runs, and loves coffee.
